أعلنت وزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية، مساء يومه الخميس 14 يونيو2018، أنها راقبت هلال شهر شوال شهر شوال 1439ه، فتبث لديها رؤيته، وبالتالي فإن يوم غد الجمعة 15 يونيو هو أول أيام عيد الفطر بالمملكة.
وأوضحت وزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية، في بلاغها أنها راقبت هلال شهر شوال 1439هـ، بعد مغرب يوم الخميس 29 رمضان 1439 هـ الموافق لـ14 يونيو 2018 م، واتصلت بجميع نظار الأوقاف ومندوبي الشؤون الإسلامية بالمملكة وبوحدات القوات المسلحة الملكية المساهمة في مراقبة الهلال، فأكدوا لها جميعا ثبوت رؤيته، وعليه فإن فاتح شهر شوال 1439هـ هو يوم الجمعة 15 يونيو 2018″.
