الصحة العالمية تحذر من خريف وشتاء “صعبين” بسبب كورونا

حذر المكتب الأوروبي لمنظمة الصحة العالمية اليوم، من خريف وشتاء “صعبين” في ظل انتشار موجة صيفية من الإصابات بكوفيد-19 وانخفاض عمليات مراقبة المرض في الدول الأعضاء.ورافقت التحذير دعوة من المنظمة إلى بلدان المنطقة لـ”معالجة الثغرات فورا في مراقبة الجائحة وتتبعها والاستجابة لها لتجنب تسجيل وفيات”.
وقال هانز كلوغه، المدير الإقليمي لمنظمة الصحة العالمية في أوروبا في بيان إنه “في هذا الوقت من العام الماضي، تحدثت إليكم عن موجة جديدة من كوفيد-19 تجتاح المنطقة، يقودها المتحور دلتا وسط رفع القيود وزيادة الاختلاط الاجتماعي”.
وأضاف أنه “من الواضح الآن أننا في وضع مماثل للصيف الماضي، لكن موجة كوفيد-19 المستمرة مدفوعة هذه المرة بسلالات فرعية من متحور أوميكرون”.
وأوضح كلوغه أنه “إذا انتظرنا حتى الخريف للعمل سيكون الأوان قد فات” مشيرا إلى أن الارتفاع السريع في الإصابات مصحوبا ب”انخفاض مراقبة الفيروس” يدفع المنظمة إلى “توقع خريف وشتاء صعبين في المنطقة الأوروبية”.
كما طالبت المنظمة بإطلاق استراتيجية كوفيد-19 لفصلي الخريف والشتاء “بهدف المساعدة في الاستعداد لموجات العدوى المقبلة”.
وتنص الإستراتيجية على زيادة نسبة التلقيح بين السكان وإعطاء جرعة معززة ثانية للأشخاص الذين يعانون ضعف المناعة ولمجموعات محددة معرضة للخطر، بالإضافة إلى استخدام الكمامات في الأماكن المغلقة وفي وسائل النقل العام.
