  1. Scrap Copper certification The demand for copper is rapidly increasing due to the growing need for renewable energy and electric vehicles. However, the global supply of copper is currently facing a major challenge, and this could short-circuit the energy transition. The demand for copper has increased by 900% over the last 50 years, and the amount of copper that is required to build a wind turbine, solar panels and electric vehicles is significant. One of the key challenges is that the majority of copper is mined from a finite number of copper mines around the world, and many of these mines are in decline. The lack of investment in new mining projects is due to the high costs involved in starting a new mine. In addition, the environmental impact of mining is becoming more of a concern. The result is that global copper production has plateaued, and some experts predict that copper mines will not be able to keep up with the demand. The supply gap for copper is expected to widen in the coming years. According to the International Copper Association, demand for copper is set to increase by 50% by 2040, and this could result in a 15 million tonne supply gap. This supply gap could result in higher prices for copper, which would have a significant impact on the cost of renewable energy and electric vehicles. In response to this shortage, more efficient ways of using copper need to be developed. This includes the recycling of copper and the use of alternative materials. The development of new mining technologies is also key in achieving sustainable copper production. The use of automation and digital technologies can significantly improve the efficiency of mining processes, reducing the environmental impact and reducing costs. In conclusion, the looming supply gap for copper could have a significant impact on the energy transition. However, by investing in new technologies and exploring alternative materials, it is possible to achieve sustainable copper production. This will be vital in ensuring that the renewable energy sector and the electric vehicle industry can continue to grow and develop Scrap metal reclamation and reutilization Recycling scrap Copper Copper alloy recycling solutions Copper scrap evaluation Copper scrap shearing Metal waste yard
