وبدأ الشوط الثاني على صفيح ساخن حين تمكن المنتخب المغربي من إضافة هدف رابع، عبر عبد الصمد الزلزولي الذي تابع كرة الصيباري الذي كان خلف الهدف بمجهود فردي كبير (د 48′).
وعاد الزلزولي ليواصل تألقه حين قطع كرة من لاعبي غانا بسرعته المعهودة، مقدما كرة للبكراوي الذي انفرد بالمرمى، واضعا الكرة في الشباك، مانحا بذلك الهدف الخامس لـ”أشبال الأطلس” (د 53′).
وتصدر المنتخب المغربي بذلك المجموعة الأولى برصيد 6 نقاط من انتصارين، تليه غينيا (3 نقاط)، ثم غانا (3 نقاط)، والكونغو الذي غادر المسابقة (0 نقطة).
